3 things to try on your social media

Social media has revolutionised how we communicate and share information and there is always something new to use and learn. The platforms we use constantly add new features and tools for us to try so here are 3 things to try on your social media.

1. Go Live

Be spontaneous and go live using the video option. But, be prepared – yes you can go for a random chit chat but it’s best to pre-prepare a topic in advance that you want to talk about. Pick a topic where you have a particular opinion or perspective and go live to talk about it. Perhaps you want to host a live Q&A – go for it and get ready as anything can happen when you go live! Make sure you are somewhere well-lit, comfortable and not too noisy to ensure you are not disrupted.

2. Create a poll

If you have a question and you want to collate some research, polls are brilliant for grabbing opinions and quickly (within a time deadline)! Simply think of what you need to know and post the question with a few answers for people to vote and comment. Your question might be to help you learn about what your audience or clients like, you may want to share new packaging options for a product or what to discover the best time to host your next event. Either way, get polling now!

3. Tell stories

Stories are by far the most powerful means of communicating a message. We are hardwired to decode the messages that are contained within them. So, start telling your own story using reels, videos, emojis and more using social media. Why not share a behind a-scenes view of attending an event, tell the story of your day and the places you visited or maybe tell the story of a delicious recipe that you’re creating as the number one baker in your area. Make your stories fun with (appropriate) filters, colourful images, clever editing, and even music to make it memorable.

Which platform is best for you? here is an overview of eight of the most popular platforms now.
