What an incredible year 2025 has been for the Challenge for Change movement! As we look back at the milestones we achieved together, it’s clear that when individuals, communities, and businesses unite for a common cause, the impact is nothing short of extraordinary.
The journey to this success began with a meticulously planned Online Launch Event in May 2025, hosted via Zoom. This kick-off, coordinated by Louise Chandler at Soundbite Media, set the tone for the entire year. The aim: to share our vision of turning kilometres into currency for change.
In September 2025, we set out with a bold ambition: to collectively cover 41,000 kilometres—the distance around the globe—and raise vital funds for local children’s charities. The energy was electric, the commitment was unwavering, and the results speak for themselves.
2025 Achievements: Going the Distance
This year wasn’t just about hitting targets; it was about the stories created along the way. From seasoned marathon runners to those taking their first steps in a fitness journey, everyone played a part.
Global Reach, Local Impact: Together, we turned kilometres into currency for change. Participants across the UK and beyond logged their walks, runs, swims, and cycles, contributing to a massive collective distance that symbolised our shared commitment to children’s futures.
Collectively we covered over 46,000 km and have raised over £45,000 (including Gift Aid and 4 charities outside of Just Giving) supporting 31 local children’s charities chosen by you the participants.
Business Champions: We saw phenomenal engagement from the corporate world. A shining example was The Marketing Centre, whose team of 41 staff rallied together to cover an impressive 8,400 kilometres. Their incredible effort not only crushed their distance goals but raised over £10,000 for YoungMinds, proving that workplace wellbeing and social responsibility go hand in hand.
A Launch Powered by Collaboration: The success of our movement was driven by the collaborative spirit seen right from the start. During our launch event, Louise Chandler played a key role in managing the experience, from embedding the inspiring launch video to guiding participants through a simple three-step sign-up process using JustGiving and Results Base. Soundbite Media’s coordination ensured a seamless flow, featuring live Q&As with ambassadors like fitness expert Joanne Groves, mental health advocate Chris Hunt, and Guy Griffiths, who is engaging schools in the “Walk a Mile” initiative.
Why It Matters
Every step taken in 2025 helped bridge the gap for children facing barriers to education, healthcare, and safety. The funds raised are already making a tangible difference in local communities, providing life-changing support where it is needed most. We also met incredible charity partners like Green Fingers and Challengers, whose work continues to inspire us.
Join the Movement in 2026!
As we look toward 2026, the question isn’t “can we do it again?”—it’s “how much further can we go?”
We are calling on businesses and workplaces to lead the charge next year. Getting involved in Challenge for Change 2026 is more than just a fundraising activity; it’s a powerful way to:
Boost Team Spirit: Nothing unites a team like a shared physical challenge.
Enhance Wellbeing: Encourage active travel and healthy habits among your staff.
Make a Real Difference: Directly support children’s charities and demonstrate your company’s values.
Let’s lace up, gear up, and get ready to make 2026 our most impactful year yet. Together, we can go the distance!
